Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas Show Review

Some of you will remember the dynamic brother/sister duo of the Carpenters and for people who might have missed them perform live, then going to watch the Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas is a great idea.

The brother/sister duo of Karen Carpenter and Richard Carpenter are brought back to life in this incredible tribute show in Las Vegas. The concept behind the Las Vegas show recreates the Carpenters 1976 UK Tour that was also seen in the USA on many televisions back in the day. The two performers Sally Olson as Karen Carpenter and Ned Mills as Richard Carpenter bring all the necessary energy to the stage to pull-off this stunning tribute concert.

Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas

The Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas production opens with a great tribute to longtime friend and musical superstar Herb Albert & the Tijuana Brass. The set featured by this all-brass band is recreated with numerous video clips of past performances that really has the crowd hopping before the brother and sister duo hit the stage. Once they appear on stage, the two tribute artists look and sound exactly like Kaern and her brother Richard.

During the Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas show there are several unique parts that set this tribute concert apart from others that have graced the stages of Sin City. The production follows the outline of the 1976 UK Tour but there are a few twists and turns throughout. For example, there are plenty of video tribute clips, historical interviews, and even a bit of comedy from both provided on several large LED screens which accompany both sides of the stage.

Performing at the Pegasus Showroom, the two tribute artists are very accomplished musicians themselves. One portion of the show has Sally Olson highlighting the prowess of Karen Carpenter on the drums in a scintillating solo that really knocks the socks off the audience. And then there is Ned Mills with his light touch on the piano and quick witty commentary during the parody performance of Spike Jones classic song Close to You which has you believing Richard Carpenter is still alive and kicking.

Other great Carpenter songs are played all night from Superstar to Yesterday Once More to We’ve Only Just Begun and don’t forget their beautiful rendition of Top of the World or Rainy Days and Mondays which has the audience in a frenzy while the two tribute artists are spot on in singing and playing. The Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas also features a full live band backing up the dynamic duo of Olson and Mills which includes numerous drummers, saxophonists, and guitarists.

The choreography of the 75-minute production is perfect and includes vintage costumes, original gestures used in the 1976 UK Tour concert, and the authentic hairstyles are truly a blast from the past and spot on. Everything about this tribute show has been perfectly recreated to let the audience understand the magnitude of musical success and harmony the Carpenters brought to the stage.

When the Carpenters Legacy Las Vegas concert is finished you will know exactly why Sally Olson was named one of the top Tribute Artists in Las Vegas for her portrayal of Karen Carpenter and is definitely a show you don’t want to miss.
